Ardyth Brott

Ardyth Webster Brott, CM is a Canadian arts administrator, author, and lawyer.

In December 2023, Ardyth was appointed a member of the Order of Canada “for her contributions to the Canadian orchestral community, and for her sustained support for youth involvement in music.”

She has been inducted into the Hamilton Gallery of Distinction, received the Negev Award, awarded the Hamilton YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, and Orchestras Canada’s Betty Webster Award.

Ardyth has published several books for children, with Hank Rattler and the Secret of the Cave of Kings leading the way in her series created for middle-schoolers. She is also the author of Jeremy’s Decision (Oxford University Press). Jeremy’s Decision was orchestrated by Canadian composer Paul McIntyre and performed by orchestras throughout North America.

Ardyth co-founded the 36-year-old Brott Music Festival, National Academy Orchestra of Canada and BrottOpera with her late husband Boris Brott. Brott Music is Ontario’s only and Canada’s largest orchestral music festival. The NAO is the country’s top professional training orchestra.
