A Well-Baked Pie
by Brian Ladyman

Publication date was May 10, 2022.

A WELL-BAKED PIE is a fresh, relatable, and entertaining read with loads of practical, year-by-year college advice and examples – to help Gen Z students land corporate jobs. It’s like a great friend, successful older sibling, trusted corporate mentor, enthusiastic college professor, and experienced career advisor all rolled into one! Includes guidance on:

· Making the most of college

· Zeroing in on your major

· Elevating social skills

· Designing a stand-out resume

· Creating a professional digital presence

· Building and using your network

· Making the most of on-campus job fairs

· Landing a killer internship

· Job hunting with intention

· Storytelling for employers

· Crushing interviews (including via video)

· Negotiating a stronger offer

It was a quick read and is very relatable for students with its balance of advice and informality. I wish all our students would read this book.

Megan Spaulding, Experiential Programs Manager, Albers Placement Center, Seattle University

The advice was super easy to understand. I loved how it was short, sweet, and to the point – and was laugh out loud funny at times.

Tessa King, Alliance Manager, Slalom Consulting (recent graduate from Chapman University)

It’s a fresh concept that creatively adds a much-needed sense of light heartedness to an extremely important, but sometimes dull topic.

Deb Walters, Guidance Counselor, Skyline High School
