Mary Ann Nichols is PlayZoomers’ co-founder and Literary Manager. She curates, shapes, and produces each PlayZoomers season in partnership with Jan Carpman. She often casts shows and occasionally directs and acts. As Literary Manager, she manages a team of script vetters who help evaluate script submissions. Mary is a radio professional, actor, voiceover artist, director, teacher, musician, and acting coach who has worked at nearly every level of the craft. Her extensive professional radio career began as a classical announcer/programmer at WGMS (Washington, DC) and WCRB (Boston, Massachusetts). She then worked as a news anchor and local/national voice of underwriting at WBUR, Boston’s NPR News station. Credits include audiobook narration and on-camera commercial work; many of her audiobooks are available through the National Library Service of the Library of Congress. Her Armin Lear debut book, co-edited with Jan Carpman, is Comedies for the Virtual Stage.
