Recent book reviews for Heather Boorman-Morris’s A Thousand Paper Cuts: A Therapist, Her Narcissist, His Trap
" A friend recommended this book to me following a two year battle to end an unhealthy relationship. I was finally able to end it and happy to be done, but I questioned what was wrong with 'me' to allow someone in my life that would treat me so poorly. Then I read Heather Boorman-Morris's memoir titled A Thousand Paper Cuts and my self-blame stopped! For anyone who has or is experiencing narcissistic abuse, A Thousand Paper Cuts is a MUST read. You didn't invite or create relationship misery for yourself; rather, that is secondary to the narcissist who targeted you because of your beauty within. Christine Zych, PsyD, LP, LMFT"

" I could barely put this book down. As a therapist myself, I am in awe at Heather's willingness to be open, raw, and vulnerable with the world. It highlights that abuse in any form does not discriminate and that regardless of your professional background none of us are exempt. I appreciate her ability to convey self compassion to herself and others throughout the book. She also normalizes the trauma response in a way that others can find hope and healing. Her writing style is such that I felt like I was sitting next to her listening to her share her story. The world needs more people like Heather not only in a helping role, but in this world shining light on important topics."

" A Thousand Paper Cranes, by Heather Boorman-Morris, is an unexpected look at the life of an apparently strong woman. Like many, she struggled with self worth and was manipulated in her marriage. This is not what one would expect from a confident therapist. I opened the cover and was so taken in that I read it straight through! It is well written, compassionate, and informative. You may recognize yourself or others as you read this intelligently written memoir."
